she was so special
but no one knew this
they just saw the weird girl
with music in her ears and words in her hands
they laughed at her, always had
she knew of this
they were the reason for the music and words
but in the deepest of her darkness
she was a light that didn't burn out
nor would she let anyone blow her out
all she would do
was secretly looking for more fuel
she hoped he would be it
hoped he would finally see
all the roses she saw
she believed he wouldn't be touched by the thorns
